The Cigarette Plug/Power Outlet Plug is the best feature. Most battery retainers come with clamps requiring the user to open the hood and clamping the leads to the battery and a body part. This unit plugs directly into the cigarette lighter/power outlet. As the amperage is greater than the drain on the battery (the battery is always draining because it is hooked up to the car), the electrical flow goes toward the battery and it keeps fully charged! No brainer to use. Note: if the power light does not light up when it is plugged into the AC send it back right way via Amazon.com return.

I have been using this battery maintainer in West central Ohio since 12/21/07 and it really seems to be doing a good job. It’s been down to zero degrees here a couple of times and after sitting outside all day at work , my truck starts up instantly , despite having a 5 year old battery . Thinking about putting one in my RV also . It must be remembered that this is a maintainer , not a charger . Could be a lifesaver . I would recommend it to anybody .

Amorphorous 6/12 Volt Solar Panel Battery Maintainer- Model 1 Overview

Use this lightweight but durable panel on game cameras that use 6 volt batteries or on any 12 volt vehicle power sport battery. Charger automatically recognizes supply feed. Great for cell phones, computers, game cameras, flash lights or any deep cycle battery.

This solar panel does very little charging on a large 12 Volt car battery, but will maintain it. It will help keep a battery from running down that is just sitting with no use.
