Proper Care and Maintenance of Your Motor Sport Vehicle

Responsibility of taking care and maintaining your motor sport vehicle usually belongs to you the owner. So you’re ready for a fun weekend ahead and you find that there is a small puddle of oil underneath the engine compartment of your dirt bike, utility vehicle, off road go kart, ATV, motorcycle or motor scooter. This has never happened before so if your not too mechanically inclined you either check it out and look at the owners manual for some answers or worst case scenario try to find a mechanic near by that knows what to do. Usually when something like this happens it is something minor but should not go neglected because it could lead to spending way more than necessary by taking care of a small problem before it turns into a large one.

Most motor scooters, motorcycles, dirt bikes and ATV’s will run on a 6 volt battery. Utility vehicles and off road go karts could run on an even larger battery so make sure you are aware of the size, especially if you decide to jump start your battery from another vehicle. Be careful, as it is important that you read the instructions that come with your jumper cables so as not to cause damage to your battery and or physical harm to yourself. These are just a few tips on maintaining your motor sport vehicle whether it is a dirt bike, motor scooter or any other type. DIY Electric Car Conversion – Cheapest Way to Own an Electric Vehicle

If you were to survey a group of people that own electric cars, you will find out that the cheapest way to own an electric vehicle (EV) is to retrofit existing gasoline driven car. For the time being, a new EV is still relatively expensive and most people would not be able to afford it. Those that are well versed with the workings of a car are converting to EV via Do It Yourself (DIY) approach at home. How do you retrofit a conventional car to electric on your own? This article will provide some information on the conversion process.

DIY electric car conversion process is actually quite a simple process. The idea is to remove the internal combustion engine and replace it with a Direct Current (DC) electric motor. Since the engine is gone, all its associated components such as gas tank, fuel lines, radiator and exhaust pipe are to be removed as well. Most of the free spaces in the EV will be used to store deep cycle batteries. A normal electric car would require 15 to 20 units of batteries. On a full charge, the EV would be able to travel approximately 150 miles. The full extend of the mileage will depends on the weight of the car, the <a href="http://batterytender.cmbazar.com” title=”battery charger“>battery condition, electric motor and also the driving condition.

To a lay person, converting a car to electric via DIY would seem like a major challenge. In this case, it is recommended to send the car to a professional workshop to be retrofitted.
